Beyond the Catalog: Our Mission in Action
TrapJaw Labs exists to advance the science, education, and stewardship of myrmecology across classrooms, research, and policy. Here's what that looks like:
Trusted By

Education & Exhibits
We design and install live insect exhibits for zoological institutions, museums, schools, and nature centers. Our team also produces science video content, has assisted with blue-chip nature documentary films, and develops curriculum-aligned educational experiences. We have conducted over 100 presentations for schools, science camps, and educational institutions!

Research & Citizen Science
Our founders and partners contribute to peer-reviewed myrmecology research, biogeographic surveys, and community-driven citizen-science initiatives. Specimens collected and bred in our facilities support studies on colony foundation, behavior, and species conservation.

Community Development & Policy Advocacy
We host meetups, contribute to The Ant Network video resource library, and connect new keepers with experienced mentors. Strong communities are the foundation of responsible ant-keeping.
We engage with regulators at the state and federal level on insect regulatory policy; our team works to ensure science, education, and ethical stewardship guide current decision-making and future legislation.
